The Bachelor of Music (BM) degree with an emphasis in Music History focuses on the history and significance of musical traditions. The program requires 123-143 hours, including courses in music theory, music history, studio instruction, and ensembles. It is designed for the student who intends to pursue a career as a composer, performer, or college teacher, as well as the student who plans to enter graduate school to pursue further study in one of these areas. In addition to audition on the major instrument or voice, students must be approved for admission by the music history faculty.
