Overview:
Political Science is concerned with government, politics and public policies. Political science students learn how governments operate and how to analyze and evaluate public policies and political ideas. Students will also learn how to communicate effectively through presentations, discussions, and writing assignments. Political science majors go on to a wide variety of jobs including attorney, positions in bureaucracies, business positions, political campaigners and politicians, professors and teachers, public relations and radio/TV reporters and anchors.

Admission Requirements:
Students must complete the following courses with grades in the C range: Political Science 1100 and 3000, an analytical course (Psychology 1000, Sociology 1000, Economics 1014, Philosophy 1000 or 1200); math reasoning proficiency course in either statistics or math (but not Statistics 1200), College Algebra, English 1000 and have a 2.0 cumulative GPA to complete a graduation plan with the College of Arts & Science.
Minimum GPA for Admission: 2.0
Specifically required non-major courses for the BA degree:
Political Science 1100
One of the following: Psychology 1000, Sociology 1000, Economics 1014, or Philosophy 1000 or 1200
Math reasoning proficiency course in either statistics or math (but not Statistics 1200)
Entry-level courses to sample the major:
