Overview:
Industrial and manufacturing systems engineering is a blending of natural sciences, engineering science, mathematics, computers, social science and management. With its diversity, industrial engineering is used in a wide variety of areas in both manufacturing and service industries.
Academic Information
Admission Requirements:
The Engineering requirements for freshman admission are as follows:
An ACT Math score of at least 22, and
an ACT Composite of at least 24 or a high school class rank in the upper 25 percent.
Freshmen who do not meet the above criteria are admitted initially into the College of Arts and Science Pre-Engineering Program. Although admitted to the College of Arts and Science as freshmen, each Pre-Engineering student receives advising by an engineering advisor.
Pre-Engineering students are eligible to transfer to the College of Engineering on satisfactory completion of 24 credit hours with a 2.0 or higher GPA and a grade of C or better in Math 1500.
Minimum GPA for Admission: 2.0
Specifically required non-major courses for the BS degree: Math 1500, 1700, 2300, 4100
