Overview:
The Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science emphasizes the business applications of computer science. Courses in systems analysis, database management, computer languages, business-oriented calculus, and basic statistics prepare a student to go into a variety of professional settings. Graduates of the BA program have stronger backgrounds in computer science than graduates of typical data processing or management information systems programs. The Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science is offered through the College of Engineering.

Academic Information

Admission Requirements:
Any student may declare a major in Computer Science (BA). Students must complete College Algebra and English 1000 with a C- or above and have a 2.0 cumulative GPA to complete a graduation plan with the College of Arts & Science.

Minimum GPA for Admission: 2.0

Specifically required non-major courses for the BA degree:
Math 1300, 1320
Statistics 2500
One science course with a lab in one of the following areas: chemistry, biology, biological anthropology, or geology.
