Overview:
The undergraduate program in Electrical Engineering trains students to effectively utilize the principles and methods of electrical engineering, including mathematics and science, to analyze and design electrical systems. The program is a flexible 126 credit structure that provides the fundamentals of engineering, in addition to a thorough coverage of the major specialties within the field. In addition, technical electives allow concentration in selected areas.

Academic Information

Admission Requirements:
The Engineering requirements for freshman admission are as follows:

An ACT Math score of at least 22, and
an ACT Composite of at least 24 or a high school class rank in the upper 25 percent.

Freshmen who do not meet the above criteria are admitted initially into the College of Arts and Science Pre-Engineering Program. Although admitted to the College of Arts and Science as freshmen, each Pre-Engineering student receives advising by an engineering advisor.

Pre-Engineering students are eligible to transfer to the College of Engineering on satisfactory completion of 24 credit hours with a 2.0 or higher GPA and a grade of C or better in Math 1500.

Electrical Engineering also requires that all grades in Electrical and Computer Engineering courses be a C- or higher.
