Degrees:
Bachelor of Health Science in Radiologic Sciences
Emphasis areas in Radiography and Nuclear Medicine Technology.

Overview:
Radiographers are highly skilled health professionals who work closely with physicians specializing in the use of x-rays. They provide patient services using a variety of imaging modalities. In addition to conventional x-ray procedures, the radiographer also works with computerized axial tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), cardiovascular-interventional technology, mammography, bone densitometry, ultrasound, and quality management. The radiographer must be competent in a wide range of radiographic procedures, must be able to use complex medical equipment and computer systems, and must apply radiation safety principles in order to deliver effective patient care.

Nuclear Medicine uses extremely small amounts of radioactive compounds in order to image and assess the function and state of health of many of the body's internal organs, and to treat some forms of cancer. It is a multidisciplinary field dependent upon contributions from Physics, Chemistry and Medicine. This highly sophisticated discipline is at the forefront of discovering and understanding the complex physiologic processes of our bodies.
