Overview:
The Department of Theatre offers the bachelor of arts degree, which allows students to make theatre the foundation of their liberal arts education. Students enrolled in the theatre program choose an emphasis area in performance (acting and directing), design/technical theatre or playwriting. While the department remains committed to a broad-based, stimulating liberal arts education promoting skills in critical thinking and communication, its programs also prepare students who want a career in the professional theatre to enter that field or to pursue graduate studies.

Academic Information

Admission Requirements:
Any student may declare a major in Theatre. Students must complete College Algebra and English 1000 with a C- or above and have a 2.0 cumulative GPA to complete a graduation plan with the College of Arts & Science.

Minimum GPA for Admission: 2.0

Specifically required non-major courses for the BA degree:
None other then those required for Arts & Science Foundation requirements.
